Sword & Spoon and the Boston Red Sox Tee It Up for a Good Cause

Sword & Spoon Group proudly pitched in for a good cause with the Red Sox Foundation and Sox Great Tim Wakefield, sponsoring the 2nd Annual Red Sox Foundation Golf Tournament. The event, played at the Belmont Country Club — home of the 2015 PGA Senior Players Championship, paired golfers with Red Sox alumni and other sports celebrities.

Proceeds from the fun-filled day of golf hosted by the former Sox knuckleballer benefited the Red Sox Foundation, which supports programs that help kids, families, and veterans throughout New England, and the Franciscan Hospital for Children in Brighton, MA, which specializes in providing compassionate customized pediatric care.

Sword & Spoon was well-represented in the tournament by S&S Operations Manager Lindsay Flood, OQ Farm Partner Bruce Herman, Jim Fair, and Jeff Murphy. They were joined by former Red Sox great and affable golf expert Bob Montgomery.

In addition to Wakefield and Montgomery, this year’s other celebrity tournament participants included former Red Sox Jim Corsi, Bill Lee, Jim Lonborg, Lou Merloni, Jim Rice, Dwight Evans, Keith Foulke, Dick Berardino, Sam Horn, Steve Lyons,  Darnell McDonald, and Rico Petrocelli, Boston Celtics alumni Dave Cowens and Dana Barros, former Boston Bruin Shawn Thornton, 1980 Olympic Hockey “Miracle on Ice” Captain Mike Eruzione,  professional golfer Dana Quigley, and sportscaster Tom Caron.
