An independent, non-partisan research organization, Pioneer Institute aims to improve the quality of life in Massachusetts through a range of advocacy efforts. John Kingston serves on Pioneer’s Board of Directors, and Sword & Spoon enthusiastically supports its work, especially its research and advocacy in the area of education reform.

Recently Pioneer recognized well-known charter school promoter and defender Eva Moskowitz at its Lovett C. Peters Lecture. Moskowitz, founder and CEO New York City’s Success Academy Charter Schools, is a former city councilor turned zealous advocate for children and opponent of protecting failing schools and failing school leaders.
