Five friends who are deeply moved by those who sacrifice their lives in the service of our country formed Mike Medders Mudders, in honor of a friend and fellow service member killed in Iraq. The friends, including Sword & Spoon founder John Kingston, chose to run in a Tough Mudder to support the wounded, honor the departed, and encourage the bereaved.

The Mike Medders Mudders all made it through the 11-mile, 3-hour 10-minute course, and raised money for Wounded Warrior Project, Michael J. Medders Foundation, Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation, and Guard Support of Massachusetts. The funds they raised were matched dollar for dollar by the Sword & Spoon Foundation, totaling $60,000 to these deserving organizations.
